VINCENT WILSON Born in North Wales he trained at Chester School of Art and Liverpool School of Art. Whilst a student he exhibited in Northern Young Artists at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and with the Royal Cambrian Academy. His work was included in four Welsh Arts Council touring exhibitions.
Wilson moved to Cornwall in 1962 and became a member of The Plymouth Society of Artists, The Newlyn Society of Artists, and the Penwith Society of Artists, St Ives. He was also invited to join the 21 Group based in Totnes. Numerous one-man exhibitions have included those at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery, The Penwith Gallery and Newlyn Art Gallery. Permanent collections include Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery and The Art Gallery at Celle, Germany. He has tried to develop a way of depicting moorland, field patterns and rocky shorelines, mainly using collage and paint, exploiting textures and unusual forms. |
