PENNY HARDY

Picture
THE CHILD WITHIN HAS FLOWN | Recycled mild steel | 1059cm
PENNY HARDY Her formal training in art started with a Foundation Course at Chelsea School of Art and then a degree in Scientific Illustration at Middlesex Polytechnic. She worked professionally as a freelance botanical artist for Kew Gardens for five years, but felt the strong pull of sculpture, having always been inspired by the beautiful natural forms around her that constantly reformed themselves in her mind as 3D pieces.
Hardy's aim is to create fluid, dynamic sculptures expressing movement using the ebb and flow of the raw materials and also the elemental influences or forces and their effect upon the individual piece. Her wish is to create sculptures that have a vitality and a visible energy.
Hardy has exhibited throughout the South West and UK for the last twelve years with international commissions throughout Europe, the USA and Australia.
