MELANIE GUY

Picture
 MURMURATION | Textured patinated pewter on board | 200 x 100cms
Melanie Guy Teaching painting, drawing and ceramics were Guy's direction for many years. All materials are for her a creative inspiration due to the variety and challenge of their properties. She now works in different mediums, mostly in resistant materials.
As a designer, she specialised in sculptural ceramics; recently, she further trained in metal design and now makes sculptural wall reliefs and 3D design, predominantly using pewter. Guy is a Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen.
As an artist, her first love is the human form: whether drawing, painting or sculpting in clay. Movement and texture always predominate: Rodin, Lucian Freud and Egon Schiele being her heroes.
