KEN FORWARD lives and works in Plymouth having originally obtained a BA from Crewe and Alsager College, Cheshire. He considers the diploma years spent at Dartington College of Arts to have had the most influence on his artistic development.
I try to realise visually my response to the relationship of natural forms and found objects usually within the context of landscape. I set out with no preconception of how the finished work should be; it develops through the process. The activity itself will go through many stages as I work the material as a kind of necessary therapy, revisiting and reworking until I feel the image has the right 'weight and expressive energy' and the process has been exhausted. Ken has exhibited widely and his work is held in private collections in various countries including France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, South Africa and the United Kingdom. |
