CHRIS BUCK

Picture
WAKE UP SLEEPING | Bronze | 51cm
CHRIS BUCK The son of a toolmaker, Chris attended art school and then worked in foundries, a formative background which has enabled him to produce the sculpture he does.
Chris takes inspiration from simple, mundane objects that he collects, found or were donated. Natural or industrial, he fills his workshop with shells, scrap metal, eggs, stones, shards of plastic, seed pods etc.
Being purely abstract, Chris’s sculptures are simply objects that he loves. However, he enjoys the notion of people seeing in his creations things he did not intend. There is meaning; he just prefers others to find it for themselves.
For Chris, his art represents a love of making and a love of all things beautiful, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem at first. He would like everyone to be able to slow down, look at the world more carefully and notice the details.
